New in 1.6.0 Web
Using Racqt with keyboard and screen reader
The Racqt website works without a mouse and with a screen reader — here’s how to make the best use of keyboard, windows and forms.
On this page
Racqt should be usable by everyone, whether you work with a mouse, a keyboard or a screen reader. Since version 1.6.0 this applies throughout the club dashboard, the member portal and the public club page.
Moving through the page with the keyboard
- Tab jumps from element to element, Shift + Tab goes back. The active element is always marked with a green outline.
- Enter or Space activate buttons, Enter submits forms.
- In menus and filter bars you move between the options with Tab; the selected option is highlighted.
Windows and dialogs
When a window opens, for example to edit a season or to confirm a deletion, focus automatically lands in the first field. As long as the window is open, focus stays inside it. You can close it at any time with Escape; you’re then back exactly where you were before. Clicking next to the window also closes it, except for forms where you would otherwise lose your input.
Forms and screen readers
Every input field has a name that screen readers read out, including search fields with a magnifying glass, filters in toolbars and fields in table rows. Required fields are marked with an asterisk. Error messages appear directly below the field concerned and are announced immediately.
Colours and status
Colours mean the same everywhere: green stands for done or active, yellow for waiting, red for something that needs attention, blue for information. A status is never conveyed by colour alone; there is always text next to it.
Something doesn’t work?
If you find a place you can’t reach with the keyboard or that your screen reader doesn’t read out sensibly, write to us via the contact form or at support@racqt.app. We give priority to such reports for the next version.
